SUMMARY
Stewart Hartsfield is a gifted artist and designer who also enjoys abilities as a commercial illustrator, graphic designer, creative consultant, art director, art educator, project manager and webmaster. His design skills spring from intensive training in the traditional visual arts, refined by commercial application of that training in the digital arena. His strong communication skills make him an excellent supervisor, consultant, tutor and teacher. His experience as a sole proprietor has provided firm grounding in project management and oversight.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
SOFTWARE – Over 20 years experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Quark XPress, with supplemental experience using other illustration/design applications, plus numerous additional graphics and production utilities.
PRINT – Solid understanding of digital preparations for offset printing, including color management; experience with many types of print projects from both creative as well as production positions.
WEB – Over 15 years experience working with selected clients to design and implement websites, then update both look & content to reflect changing client needs, always augmenting experience & expertise to meet the evolving client demands with current technology.
MANAGEMENT – Ability to grasp and oversee large, complex projects, or, to handle multiple projects within the same timeframe; organized, attentive to details without losing sight of overall objectives; capable of sharing information and training others.

SELF EMPLOYMENT
STEWORKS is a sole proprietorship providing high-end digital illustration & design commercially on a project basis (full-time since 6/94), with recent emphasis on agency-quality Photoshop image compositing & retouching and on website work. Additional energies have been applied to teaching and curriculum development (PNCA, Fall ‘01 – Fall ‘05) and to cover illustration & production management for early editions of the ReDirect Guide (Spring ‘02 – Spring ‘03). Stewart helped his partner launch her website, earthincommon.com (Fall '05), an e-commerce site using an open-source shopping cart solution.
Ongoing Projects include handling duties as webmaster (and all-around illustrator/graphic designer) for prodesigned.com (1995 - present) and ntptalk.com (4/09 – present).

Computer Graphic Technologies – 9/93 to 6/94, left to pursue freelance projects full-time.
High-end color separation and prepress house.
Major role in company startup; client file intervention to trap, color break, and facilitate correct film output; file creation and illustration; received production training on high-end color pre-press workstations.
Black Rogers Sullivan Goodnight – 5/92 to 9/93, recruited away to join startup of Computer Graphic Technologies.
Advertising agency, ranked 4th largest (at the time) in metropolitan area, Houston.
